Marty Stone - Protecting Family During the Pandemic

"Both me and my husband have high risk conditions and my son does too. We stayed home most of last year and it's been rough." Marty Stone lives in Noblesville, Indiana and is the mother of an 11-year-old daughter and a 16-year-old son with multiple disabilities. She discusses the COVID-19 pandemic's impact on her family, who "basically went into seclusion." She supported her son to access his education virtually, and made sure personnel who entered the house to provide services did not pose health risks. "It's nothing personal, it's just what I have to do to protect my family." Outings in the car, no-contact public library services, and brownies baked at home helped the family cope with isolation. Marty was interviewed in July 2021.
